The Location Award

The Location Award for outstanding event locations in Germany was given away for the 8th time this year.

The Location Award took place on October 9, 2017 at the event location FREDENHAGEN in Offenbach am Main.

600 guests from the MICE and communications sector were expected to come.

During the first phase (March 20 - May 15, 2017) all venues could apply when they have a permit pursuant to the “Versammlungsstättenverordnung” (Regulations on Places of Assembly).

During the second phase (May 16 - June 30, 2017) all applicants were evaluated with a point system by event planners and experts from the events industry.

The results were three nominations per category from which the jury, consisting of ten experts, chose the winner.

All nominees were invited to and presented at the award ceremony in Offenbach on October 9, 2017.


The categories, in which the venues compete for the award, were:

  • Hotel event location
  • Exhibition and congress center
  • Event locations with adventure character
  • Cultural locations for events
  • Extraordinary MICE locations
