After Abitur and education as restaurant expert in Schleswig Holstein Manuela Thomsen collected first professional experiences in Switzerland / 

Saint Moritz where she worked 2 ½ years in the star catering trade. Then back to Germany she worked as restaurant leader before she attained the degree of the hotel graduate in business management at the Hotelfachschule Lübeck.

In the following the born Schweriner occupied different leading positions in the hotellerie and here, among other things, she had been responsible for the elaboration and conversion of the annual marketing and sales concept including budget production and budget supervision.

In March, 2007 Manuela Thomsen changed as an head of Department to the Deutscher Sparkassen- und Giroverband e.V. in Berlin. Here the main focus of the job has been lying on the planning and organisation of conferences and congresses for up to 2800 participants incl. concept production and budget responsibility, in the care of the company groups of the association, in the organisation of lobby events and customer events for the savings bank group of financiers as well as in the travel care of the association management on national and international level.
